National World War II Museum Opens Special Exhibit

The National World War II Museum is partnering with Spears Group to promote to its new special exhibit, Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II

  • June 30, 2015

Spears Group will head community relations efforts for the new special exhibit. Spears Group will execute a strategic communications outreach plan that will target various community constituencies, including educational groups and young professionals organizations, in order to drive increased local attendance.

The exhibition will use artifacts, photographs, oral histories, and associated educational programming to highlight some of the extraordinary achievements of African Americans during World War II, both overseas and on the Home Front. The centerpiece of the exhibit is an original eight-minute video about the Tuskegee Airmen, who in many ways became the focus of African American participation during the war. The piece is narrated by TV personality Robin Roberts, whose own father flew with the Tuskegee Airmen during the war.
